Introduction: The Body
Our bodies are designed to heal themselves. Think about when you get a cut. In a few
days, the body has healed the wound and the cut disappears. It is the same with disease.
When we prevent the body from being able to heal -- by flooding it with toxic substances
such as unhealthy food, pharmaceutical drugs, chemotherapy and stimulants -- our body
is unable to fight off the overload of toxins, and we become sicker and sicker. However,
when we feed our bodies what they need, such as pure, raw, alkalizing foods and fresh
fruit and vegetable juices, then it is able to repair itself and recover quickly from any
disease, just like it is engineered to do. The key is that this healing process is our natural
birthright, our status quo. It is not present just in some bodies, but in every body.
Therefore, the path to health starts with stopping the obstruction of this innate healing
ability by changing what we consume.
The Number One Question
The first question I am asked when people learn that I am in the holistic health field is,
"How do I really lose weight?" In this book you will learn the real answer to this
question. By following the guidelines in the book, you will not only learn how to lose
weight, but you will also learn how to reverse and prevent any disease. The benefit of
losing weight holistically is that you become healthy. The benefit of becoming healthy is
that you lose weight. It's the same with cancer or any other disease. One just needs to
watch the recent documentary, “Simply Raw” to see how six people completely cured
themselves of diabetes in 30 days -- types 1 and 2! Or Read The China Study, which
asserts that consumption of animal protein increases the risk of chronic diseases such as
cancer, but a plant-based diet reverses this completely. By following the "diet" guidelines
in this book, you will lose weight while you gain invaluable knowledge that you will
keep you healthy and disease free for life. All you have to do is choose to be healthy!
The Real Reason You Are Not Losing Weight:
How the diet industry profits off our pain
Most of us have tried every diet out there…and failed. Atkins, South Beach, Zone, Alli…
the list goes on and on, right? It seems like every month there is a new revolutionary way
to lose weight, and it seems that more people try these diets and fail over and over again.
But the answer to all our problems is not some new revolutionary diet pill. The secret to
health and vitality is not something that has to be invented. It is not a painful surgery or
excessive exercise or starvation. It’s actually been around much longer than any of the
diets and fads that exist today!
Let me explain. The diet industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. Most of these
companies are in the business to make money, not to make you thin or happy. They spend
more money on advertising and marketing than they do on actually developing products
that work.
Do you think it is in their best interest for you to actually lose weight? No! All these
companies care about is their bottom line. If you lose weight, they lose a customer!
Any brand name, publicly traded corporation does not have your best interests at heart.
These corporations are only trying to make themselves and their stockholders more
money. Most advertising in the food and beauty industries is blatantly deceptive and
misleading.
We have become so brainwashed by the media that we are blinded to the fact that they
have been fooling us for decades.
Why Do We Gain Weight?
Toxins, MSG, and Parasites
Toxins. A nasty little word. We are full of toxins. From the food we eat to the air we
breathe to the water we bathe in, toxins invade our body on a daily basis. Toxins can be
found in almost every product we use, including makeup, household cleaners and cell
phones.
Toxins are stored in body fat. Toxins cause the liver to become sluggish and function at a
low capacity. This in turn causes our organs to stop metabolizing fat effectively, with the
result being that we gain weight. The more toxins we accumulate, the more weight we
gain. Even worse, the more we weigh, the more toxins we are then able to store. The
body’s metabolism is designed to effortlessly eliminate these toxins. However, because of
the massive amount of toxins in our food supply today, and because we are exposed to
them on a daily basis, our bodies have become overwhelmed and unable to properly
process and eliminate them. This is the explanation for the rapidly rising illness and
obesity rates in our country.
